“There isn’t a better way to know what’s going on at the track than to be listening to the action on this great little radio. I’ve used the RACEceiver SW 1600 for the past couple of years now and have recently started using the "NEW" TruScan and found it to be the perfect scanner for me. It would be an asset for any local short track race fan or team member! “

1. NAPA Auto Parts steps up to support ASALMS
Challenge Division Points Leader, Travis Dassow for the Jani-King 150 at the
Milwaukee (WI) Mile.
West Bend, Wisconsin (08/22/2007): There's nothing like going home to cure
whatever it is that ails you. For West Bend, Wisconsin driver, Travis Dassow, a
relatively short 25 minute trip to the Milwaukee (WI) Mile near Milwaukee in
West Allis, Wisconsin is just the tonic that the 20-year-old is looking for in
his efforts to win the 2007 ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division Presented
by GM Performance Parts Championship.
For the remainder of the 2007 season, Dassow and crew are making a run for the
2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Championship as well as make select appearances
in the ASALMS Northern Division sporting the #89 that has won the last two
ASALMS Challenge Division Championships with Stephen Leicht (2005) and Kelly
Bires (2006).
Beginning with the Jani-King 150 this Friday and Saturday August 24-25, 2007 at
the famed 1.032 Mile Semi-Banked Paved Oval, Dassow will be sporting new NAPA
Auto Parts decals on the hood of his machine as he continues to chase after the
2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Championship with two races remaining beginning
this weekend in his home state of Wisconsin.
"NAPA Auto Parts is excited about the opportunity to partner with TD
Racing Development and Travis Dassow." Stated Al Cellarius, General
Manager of the NAPA Auto Parts Distribution Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
"Travis is an exciting young driver and we're proud to be a part of his
team as he strives to bring the ASALMS Challenge Division championship home to
Wisconsin in front of the hometown crowd." Cellarius added.

2. Jacob Goede looking for his third win of 2007 in the ASALMS Challenge
Division in the Jani-King 150 at the historic Milwaukee (WI) Mile.
New Germany, Minnesota (08/22/2007): Jacob Goede is going to attempt to make it
a perfect three for three in 2007 on the highly competitive ASA Late Model
Series Challenge Division circuit. Once again it is not going to be easy dealing
with another new track but the LEC team has proven by winning at both Iowa and
Bristol Motor Speedways that they are up to the task.
Being that it is Governors Cup Weekend at the Milwaukee (WI) Mile, located just
outside of Milwauee in West Allis, Wisconsin for the Jani-King 150, with four
divisions having to share the legendary oval, practice time is going to be at a
premium. This will make it so very important to have the #72 car ready to roll
right off the trailer.
Having no previous notes to fall back on the crew, led by John Goede along with
Matt and Alex Goede, will use their years of experience setting up fast race
cars to dial it in.Also along with the wins, Jacob set fast times and won the
ARP/Aluminum Racing Products Fast Qualifier Awards at Bristol and Iowa!
Throw in the Mid-Season Championship at Elko (MN) Speedway and a victory and
fast time at I-94 (MN)Raceway in a Midwest Tour race, the season has been very
kind to Jacob. The rest of the year will find the 22 year old Racecar Driver/Mechanical
Engineer battling for the Elko Super Late Model Championship along with starts
in the ASALMS at LaCrosse and Nashville.

5. Travis Wilson was fast but struggles at Orange County (NC) Speedway.
Bartow, Florida (08/22/2007): When Travis Wilson raced at Orange County
Speedway before, he found that his car was super fast, but he just couldn't get
the forward bite that he needed to get a victory. This time, Wilson thought
things were going to be different behind the wheel of the #62 Greg's
Motorsports Chevrolet Late Model.
And it looked like things were going to be on the up-swing, after Wilson
practiced in the top-10 and qualified 13th for Saturday night's 125-lap race at
Orange County. But things never quite panned out, and the curse of Orange
County took its toll on Wilson once again. Wilson lost forward bite, then got
involved in a mid-race accident that eventually knocked him out of competition.
"It was just a rough night since qualifying," said Wilson. "We
just never got back on track after that. We were top five in practice, but we
were terrible in the race. I don't know why. We were good for about 10 laps,
but the car would fall off after that. We just came here and lost forward bite.
That is the same thing that happened to us last year. We just can't get a grasp
on this place."
Wilson's night was cut short after a lap 36 accident that he couldn't stop for.
"I didn't know about (the accident) for one thing until we got to the
middle of three and four. By the time I saw it and heard about it, I just
couldn't get the car woah'ed up. When you are going fast, I couldn't get it
slowed up and couldn't get it turned in time."

Born to race; it’s the only thing he can remember wanting to do. He was born and raised only minutes from “The Track Too Tough Too Tame”, so it would have been hard to not want to race. He’s been around racing his entire life, traveling to local race tracks with his family since he was six-weeks old.
Dange has an excellent working knowledge of a racecar, along with the driving ability to compete with the best. It’s not often that you find that in a driver these days. Dange has taken the old-school approach to racing, working his way from the bottom to the top, learning not only how to drive, but also how to build and maintain his cars along the way.
2006 He received an offer to run a limited schedule in the Hooters Pro Cup series for a southern division team. After qualifying for the Championship, Dange signed on to run for the Hooter Pro Cup Championship with NASCAR Busch team, Mac Hill Motorsports in the #65s Chevy Monte Carlo SS and finish 2 points short of the Rookie of the Year.
In 2007, Hanniford will run the full schedule in the Southern Hooters Pro Cup division and compete in his first NASCAR Busch series race at Richmond on May 4, 2007.

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois (August 22, 2007) - - Billy Tanner was feeling very good about his debut in the dirt this past weekend at Illinois State Fairgrounds, but unfortunately, the team’s finish did not state the type of improvement, consistency and threat they were in the Allen Crowe 100.
Tanner, driving the No. 07 CheapCaribbean.com
Pontiac Grand Prix for Stott Classic Racing is a well-known dirt racer from
“I’ve raced on a lot on dirt, but this is very different, it’s nothing like my late model,” said Tanner. “I know our practice times (36th) don’t show anything positive, but I was just getting warmed up, we’ll be fine for the race, I guarantee that.”
With Mother Nature reeking havoc at Illinois State Fairgrounds, ARCA officials were forced to cancel qualifying and the start the field by points. Tanner would line up 35th.
At the start of the event, Tanner took off like a rocket. Threading the needle through the race traffic, he had worked himself into the 25th position when the first caution flag waived on lap 10.
The Stott Classic Racing team opted to bring their rookie driver to pit road. Crew chief and car owner Corrie Stott elected to do a gas-and-go, sending Tanner back into the hunt.
On the restart, Tanner’s old days in
When the caution flag waived on lap 31, Tanner was sitting in the 10th position, his first time this year holding the honor of sitting in the top-10.
Throughout the next twenty-five laps, Tanner would hover strong inside the top-12, but on lap 61, contact with the No. 90 car would send Tanner around for a spin.
Luckily, the spin itself didn’t produce any damage, but then came Mark Littleton, who was riding comfortably inside the top-20 before slamming into the No. 07 causing heavy damage to both cars.
Tanner would bring his battered machine to pit road, where the Stott Classic Racing team would bang out the fenders and send Tanner back into the event.
For the remainder of the event, Tanner would continue to maneuver his way around the one-mile track. Out of the hunt, he salvaged the best finish he could, crossing the line 26th.
“I don’t know
what we need to do to get a break,” said Tanner. “We had a great car, I mean a
great car and I don’t know what happened with the No. 90 again. That’s not the
first time she has gotten into me. I’m just frustrated. We were racing towards
a top-10 and it easily could have came at
He continued, “I’m telling you, I just don’t know what to say. It’s frustrating. We’ve had good cars all year and just plump bad luck has kept us from showing our true potential. I would do anything for a good run on Sunday (at The Milwaukee Mile).”
“We’ll pick up the pieces like we always do. I sincerely appreciate everything hat Corrie and the team do for me and hopefully a good run at The Milwaukee Mile will make up for everything.”
Next up for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is a showdown at The Milwaukee Mile. The Governors Cup 200 weekend is set to start with practice and ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying Saturday. The event is scheduled to roll off at 1:00pm EST Sunday with live coverage on SPEED.

Guided by two-time ARCA RE/MAX
Series champion Andy Hillenburg, Silas steered towards Illinois State
Fairgrounds with an open mind. He knew he would have a competitive car; it
would just take himself as a driver a little time to adapt to the track.
Mother Nature also decided to

During the shortened forty-five
minute session, Silas clocked in the 24th fastest time, picking up
nearly two seconds from the start of practice.
From practice the team would
jump quickly into race mode, since the rain forced ARCA officials to cancel
qualifying. Silas would line up 12th for his
At the start of the event,
Silas held his own. With coaching from Hillenburg, Silas was taking it easy
while trying to learn the track and follow his closest competition.
The first caution flag waived
on lap 10, and the team decided to stay out and make their mandatory pit stop
later. The strategy moved Silas into the fifth position on the restart.
The rookie did a superb job
holding himself solidly in the top-10 until a lap 31 caution allowed the
opportunity for Silas to bring his machine to pit road. The team added Sunoco
Racing fuel and made an adjustment before sending their protégé back into
battle.
On the restart, Silas held the
19th position. Throughout the next sixty laps, Silas would flirt
with the top-20.
Learning was the key for Silas on
Sunday and despite losing two laps under green flag conditions, the amount of
experience he reeled in should pay dividends when the series makes another trip
to the dirt on Labor Day.
Frank Kimmel went on to score a
dominating victory, with Silas hanging tough and collecting a solid 19th
place finish in the Allen Crowe 100.
“A top-20 finish was our primary goal,” said Silas. “We came to
He continued, “I want to thank
all my guys on the Fast Track Racing team and my sponsors for all of their
support, we’re making progress on the newer courses and I’m looking forward to
the rest of the year.”
With his top-20 run Sunday,
Silas sits ninth in the championship points heading into next Sunday’s thriller
from The Milwaukee Mile.

Series is a showdown at The Milwaukee Mile. The Governors Cup 200 weekend is

ARCHDALE, NC (August 20, 2007)- Earl Pearson Jr. the
two time and defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion picked up his
fifth win in 2007 on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series winning the
sanctioned event Friday August 17th at Kankakee Motor Speedway in
Kankakee IL. Earl driving the Bobby Labonte Racing Mastersbilt Chassis powered
by a Larry Wallace Engine started 13th in the 50-lap $10,000 to win
feature event. Earl would quickly move to the front and into the top three by
lap 20. Earl would use the bottom line around the ¼ mile bull ring to take the lead
on lap 35 and lead the final 15 laps while holding off Scott James and Mike
Marlar to earn the victory.
"That was a great race at Kankakee. I have to
give my crew credit for giving me a great car and making the right choice on
tires to get us to the front. We had a really good car all night and should
have been starting up front but we broke a rotor leading the heat race which
caused me to finish 4th. Hopefully we can keep our luck going and
continue to add points to our lead for the championship", stated Earl.
The Bobby Labonte Racing Team also competed in the
"Jackson 100" at Brownstown Speedway in Indiana over the weekend.
Earl would win his heat race to earn a fifth place starting position for the
100-lap $15,000 to win sanctioned event. Earl would maintain his position but
the track took rubber early in the event which made the track extremely hard to
pass on. Earl would finish 6th in the final run down and padded his
points lead to 155 points over Scott James with 7 races left on the 2007 schedule.
Earl and the team will compete in the "Scorcher
100" on Wednesday and Thursday August 22-23rd for a 100-lap
$20,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned event. From there Earl
will travel to Bluegrass Speedway in Kentucky for a 50-lap $10,000 to win Lucas
Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event on Saturday August 25th.

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois (Tuesday, August 21, 2007) - - ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie-of-the-year candidate Patrick
Sheltra reached into the spotlight this past weekend at Illinois State
Fairgrounds, as the Florida native attracted his career best finish Sunday with
a third place podium finish.
Heading into the Allen Crowe
100, Sheltra was looking to flex his muscle on the dirt, a track characteristic
that he is known for dominating outside the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
With threatening skies hovering
around
Sheltra stormed on to the
charts early putting his No. 60 inside the top-five. The track picked up speed
throughout the session. At the conclusion of the lone practice, Sheltra had
netted the 12th position with a time of 34.189 seconds at 105.297
MPH.
“The car is handling really
well, we left a little on the table,” said Sheltra. “My Sheltra Motorsports
team really wants to win this race badly and believe me; I’m going to give it
everything I have to make that a reality.”
With an extremely tight
schedule set for Sunday, ARCA officials decided to cancel ARCA SIM Factory pole
qualifying based on Mother Nature’s intrusion and set the field based on the
2007 car owners point. The rule book lined Sheltra up in the ninth position.
At the start of the event,
Sheltra played the conservative mode. Hovering inside the top-10, the team had
planned to make their mandatory pit stop early, giving the team the rest of the
event to maneuver their way back to the front.
That opportunity came on lap 11
when Bill Baird and AJ Fike tangled. Sheltra brought his bright green machine
down pit road to the attention of his Sheltra Motorsports team. The team made a
slight chassis adjustment and added some Sunoco Racing fuel.
On the restart, Sheltra charged
through the field on a mission. Sheltra reported the car was awesome, but he
was threading the needle through the traffic.
By lap 36, Sheltra had climbed
into the fourth position. At that point, Sheltra had tied his career-best
finish, but for the fast rookie, he was looking for more, much more.
Just after halfway, Sheltra was
continuing to hold the fourth position, Sheltra knew he still had some power
underneath him.
By lap 73, Sheltra had picked
off Justin Marks and moved into the third position. Reporting to the crew that
he wore out his tires, Sheltra maintained a strong podium run.
Several passing attempts in the
closing laps against second place runner Michael McDowell went to no avail,
with Sheltra crossing the line third, a career best in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
“It was a great day,” said
Sheltra. “The car was hooked up today, but we smoked our tires in the end and
that hindered our finish. I’m really proud of everyone on the team, they did a
great job. We have some momentum going into
Next up for the ARCA RE/MAX
Series is a showdown at The Milwaukee Mile. The Governors Cup 200 weekend is
set to start with practice and ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying Saturday. The
event is scheduled to roll off at 1:00pm EST Sunday with live coverage on
SPEED.

Prepares For Mile Dirt”
The Fast Track Racing
development driver isn’t sure what to really expect as he strolls into
“I’ll be honest, I’m not sure what to really expect this weekend,”
said Silas, a native of
He continued, “Andy has been
spotting for me all year and definitely having him in my corner this weekend
could be the difference between finishing first or 30th. He knows
how to maneuver young drivers around
Silas added, “I have to learn
all I can this weekend, because in a few weeks we’ll be back promoting the dirt
race at DuQuoin and that will be a crucial race for all of us. It’s a quick
weekend, practice, qualify and race all within four hours. Its going to go by
very fast, so I have to stay completely focused and that’s exactly what I plan
to do.”
The driver of the No. 11
Chevrolet Monte Carlo also knows that a good run on Sunday will help put his
team back on the campaign trail. The team has run strong the past two weeks,
but obstacles have kept the team from posting top-10 finishes.
Enough is enough for the
veteran team and Silas is hoping to stay out of trouble and record his first
top-five finish on Sunday.
“Several times this year, I’ve
been able to go out on tracks I’ve never seen before and run strong. USA

While August is probably the
busiest month for Silas this year, he is keeping in-check what his primary
goals and objectives are. Over the next week and a half, Silas will compete in
the ARCA RE/MAX Series, the United Speed Alliance Racing (USAR) Hooter’s Pro
Cup Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He knows while it’s important
to run strong and competitive in USAR and NASCAR, his primary focus is ARCA.
“We may be out of the hunt for
a championship, but we still have some climbing to do in the standings. If
anyone ever says that seat time doesn’t equal results, they are dead wrong.
While I know I need to run strong in ARCA, the extra racing conditions are
helping me gather the seat time I need. I’m going to have a lot of fun the next
two weeks, but I’m also hoping to reel in strong finishes for my team and
sponsors,” remarked Silas.
