“There isn’t a better way to know what’s going on at the track than to be listening to the action on this great little radio. I’ve used the RACEceiver SW 1600 for the past couple of years now and have recently started using the "NEW" TruScan and found it to be the perfect scanner for me. It would be an asset for any local short track race fan or team member! “

I may never have told you, but you do an excellent job with the pictures. I have yet to get any pictures that I did not like.
They have all been very professional.

17-year-old John Wes Townley brings home his
first career ASA Late Model Series Feature Win in the Senoia 125 Presented by
FLF Racecars at the New Senoia (GA) Raceway.
By ASA Late Model Series
Senoia, Georgia (09/16/2007): The Seventh Race of the 2007 Season in the ASA
Late Model Series Southern Division Presented by GM Performance Parts and Day
Two of the Georgia Doubleheader Weekend; The Senoia 125 Presented by FLF
Racecars is now complete.
The 0.375 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval of the New Senoia (GA) Raceway, located
Southwest of Atlanta in Senoia, Georgia were the hosts of the Senoia 125
Presented by FLF Racecars. The 125-lap Feature also completed the two race in
two days Georgia Doubleheader Weekend in the great state of Georgia.
An emerging star shined brightly on Day Two of the Georgia Doubleheader Weekend
as 17-year-old John Wes Townley, from near-by Watkinsville, Georgia took the
lead from Travis Cope on Lap 85 and then had to fight off several challenges
from his own teammate and fellow Peach State driver, Beau Slocumb to go on and
win his first career ASALMS Feature!
In a reversal of fortunes on the front row, 19-year-old Travis Cope and ASALMS
Southern Division Overall and Rookie of the Year Points Leader and Feature
Winner the night before at the South Georgia (GA) Motorsports Park, Jeff
Choquette started on the front row of the 125-lap Feature in Senoia, Georgia.
The night before at South Georgia it was Choquette on the pole with Cope
flanking his outside!
The front row stayed side by side with Choquette just edging Cope across the
start/finish line to lead Lap One and more importantly, pick up Five (5) bonus
points for leading a lap, which is extremely crucial as the points battles head
into the home stretch. On Lap Two, Cope took his turn in the lead and pulled
out ahead of Choquette, who tucked in behind as the field began to sort itself
out.
The first caution didn't fly until Lap 20 when Jeremy Gerstner and 15-year-old
Jerrod Foley collided in Turn four with both spinning. Both were able to
continue as Cope led the field back to the green. Choquette stayed glued to
Cope's back bumper until the Brothers Racing Team duo of 17-year-old John Wes
Townley and Beau Slocumb both managed to get by the Loxahatchee, Florida driver
and set their sights on Cope.
Cope stayed out in front with Townley and Slocumb in hot pursuit over the next
47 laps when the caution flew on Lap 67 when 16-year-old Dakota Stroup got into
the back end of Travis Wilson in Turn Four. Stroup was sent to the rear of the
field while Wilson was forced to pit and also had to restart at the rear right
behind Stroup!
Things took a turn for the worst 10 laps later as Wilson drove around the
outside of Stroup and the two collided several times before Stroup shoved
Wilson up into the Turns 3-4 wall on Lap 77. ASALMS Officials immediately
parked Stroup as he was Black-Flagged and Disqualified for conduct detrimental
to the ASALMS! Unfortunately for Wilson, the damage to his machine was to
severe for him to continue.
On the next restart, Townley and Slocumb again applied pressure to Cope and
finally on Lap 85, Townley and Slocumb both drove underneath the 19-year-old
Sunshine State pilot to take over first and second to the roar of the vocal
Peach State crowd! From there, Townley and Slocumb would pull away from the
rest of the pack to battle.
ARP Bodies Fast Qualifier, Chris Fontaine also got by Cope and began reeling in
the teammates from the Brothers Racing Team. Soon it was a three-car battle for
the lead. Later on however, Townley and Slocumb lost Fontaine using lapped
traffic and would settle the race on their own terms.
Several times Slocumb let his teammate know he was behind him and with 10 laps
to go got to Townley's drivers door as they battled side by side for the next
several laps with the partisan Georgia crowd on their feet. Townley managed to
maintain his momentum on the outside groove and got back ahead of Slocumb with
Five to go.
Slocumb tried the inside lane again going down the backstretch with Four laps
to go and the two drivers touched, slowing both down briefly. Townley was able
to gather his machine back up quickly and briefly pulled away. As the white
flag came out, Slocumb finally caught up to Townley's back bumper but could
nothing with him as the 17-year-old Townley would fight off his teammate to
score his first career ASALMS Feature Win!
Townley, who's part of the Driver Development Program for Wood Brothers JTG
Racing made his Car Owner and Father, Tony Townley proud as it was a 1-2 finish
for his drivers highlighted by his sons' first ever Feature Win in dramatic
fashion over his teammate Slocumb, a Two-Time ASALMS South Feature Winner in
2007!
Slocumb finished second to move into second place in the ASALMS Southern
Division Points Standings heading into the next race; The North VS South
Shootout/World Cup 200 at the i-70 (Mo) Speedway, located East of Kansas City
in Odessa, Missouri on Saturday and Sunday September 22-23, 2007.
Chris Fontaine couldn't maintain the pace set by Townley and Slocumb, but did
come home with a career high third place finish over Cope who finished fourth.
18-year-old Cody Smith, running for 5K Motorsports over the Georgia
Doubleheader Weekend, rounded out the Top Five with a career high Fifth.
ASALMS Southern Division Overall and Rookie of the Year Points Leader, Jeff
Choquette, hot off his first career ASALMS Feature Win the night before the
South Georgia (GA) Motorsports Park, finished Sixth and will carry a 92-point
lead (Unofficially) over Beau Slocumb heading to the I-70 Speedway.
17-year-old Dillon Oliver finished seventh while Bobby East, who practically
destroyed his car the night before in Cecil, Georgia and didn't even make it to
Senoia, Georgia until almost two hours after Qualifying was completed, started
shotgun on the field in 24th and worked his way through the pack and earned the
events' Hard Charger Award with an Eighth Place finish over Brandon Johnson and
Alison Quick, in her second start for Allen-Hock Motorsports completed the Top 10.
Earlier in the afternoon in ARP Bodies/Aluminum Racing Products Qualifying,
Chris Fontaine picked up his second ARP Bodies Fast Qualifier Award of the
season as the Lakeland, Florida freshman in the presenting sponsors' own FLF
Racecars House Car, established the ASALMS Southern Division track record on
the 0.375 Mile Semi-Banked Paved Oval with a 14.205 which measures out to
95.037 MPH.
The ASALMS Southern Division will have little time to prepare for their next
event as it is the combined Ninth Race of the 2007 Season in the ASALMS
Northern Division as well as the Eighth Race of the 2007 Season in the ASALMS
Southern Division; The North VS South Shootout/World Cup 200!
The second annual combined event featuring the ASALMS Northern and Southern
Division cars and stars going head to head will commence on Saturday and Sunday
September 22-23, 2007 at the wicked fast 0.533 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval of
the I-70 (MO) Speedway, located East of Kansas City in Odessa, Missouri. I-70
will host one of the biggest and most pivotal events of the 2007 season for the
ASALMS Northern and Southern Divisions'.
Joining the ASALMS North VS South Shootout for the huge weekend of racing will
be the 2007 I-70 Speedway Season Championships for the tracks regular divisions
of Super Trucks, Super Stocks, Dash Cars, and Enduros.
Plus the companion I-70 Speedway Dirt Track will also be hosting their 2007
Season Championships during World Cup Weekend on Friday September 21, 2007 for
the dirt divisions of IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars, Sport
Compacts and Farm Trucks on a special $5.00 Friday Fun Night!

Then to complete the month of September, the 11th and final points race of the
Fifth Anniversary 2007 Season in the ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division;
The 2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Season Championships/USA Digital 200 will be
next.
The 2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Championship and 2007 Pat Bourdow Memorial
Rookie of the Year titles will be decided in the ASALMS Challenge Division
Season Championships/USA Digital 200, which serves as the last points race for
the ASALMS Challenge Division and is set for Friday and Saturday September
28-29, 2007 at the Five Flags (FL) Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.
West Bend, Wisconsin's Travis Dassow sits in the drivers seat and has the
inside track on winning the 2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Championship and
third title in a row for the #89 car with the last two championships under the
WalTom Racing stable. This potential title would be the first for T.D. Racing Development,
who purchased the WalTom team before the start of the 2007 season.
The 20-year-old Two-Time Feature winner will carry a nearly insurmountable
93-point lead over Colt James and 97 markers ahead of Eddie Hoffman and Dassow

ASALMS Challenge Division Championship!
As for the chase for the 2007 Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title,
Fort Lauderdale, Florida Rookie, Sean Murphy is the new Rookie Points Leader and

his native Sunshine State. Murphy simply needs to be within four positions of
Thorn in Pensacola, Florida during the 200-lap Feature to clinch the Freshman
title!

Born to race; it’s the only thing he can remember wanting to do. He was born and raised only minutes from “The Track Too Tough Too Tame”, so it would have been hard to not want to race. He’s been around racing his entire life, traveling to local race tracks with his family since he was six-weeks old.
Dange has an excellent working knowledge of a racecar, along with the driving ability to compete with the best. It’s not often that you find that in a driver these days. Dange has taken the old-school approach to racing, working his way from the bottom to the top, learning not only how to drive, but also how to build and maintain his cars along the way.
2006 He received an offer to run a limited schedule in the Hooters Pro Cup series for a southern division team. After qualifying for the Championship, Dange signed on to run for the Hooter Pro Cup Championship with NASCAR Busch team, Mac Hill Motorsports in the #65s Chevy Monte Carlo SS and finish 2 points short of the Rookie of the Year.
In 2007, Hanniford will run the full schedule in the Southern Hooters Pro Cup division and compete in his first NASCAR Busch series race at Richmond on May 4, 2007.
Little Big Track Up Next
Myrtle Beach, S.C.—Most tracks along the Hooters Pro Cup
Series are traditional, short-track bullrings. Iowa Speedway is not like most
tracks on the schedule.
The pristine speedway in Newton, Iowa is nearly a mile in length and features a
60-foot wide racing surface with multiple grooves. It’s also the fastest track
the Hooters Pro Cup drivers will run on all year. And that fact is just fine
with the best short-track drivers in the country.
“I can’t wait to get there,” said Bobby Gill, driver of the No. 06s USG
Sheetrock/Kimnach Ford. “I’ve always liked the fast tracks, and we get to haul
buggy there.”
Last year, there were plenty of drivers doing just that. Shelby Howard set
quick time during the qualifying session with a lap at nearly 133 mph. All
told, 14 drivers swapped the lead 26 times during the 250-lap race. Fittingly,
the final pass came on the final lap.
After a late-race caution set up a green-white-checkered finish, Daniel Johnson
nudged Mardy Lindley out of the lead on Lap 258, but the contact allowed Woody
Howard to get a run on the leader going into Turn 1 on the final lap. With
momentum on his side, Howard ducked to the inside of Johnson, and the two went
side-by-side for the final lap, banging off each other several times. But in
the end, Howard beat Johnson and Justin Hobgood in a photo finish to become the
first winner in the history of Iowa Speedway.
Gill is searching for a bit of history this time around, too. The short-track
legend is searching for his series-high fourth Hooters Pro Cup title. A win at
Iowa would likely put Gill, who trails Gary St. Amant by 20 points in the
standings, in the driver’s seat going into the final three races of the season.
Gill led 72 laps in last year’s SOY BIODIESEL 250 before a late-race stop
relegated him to 20th.
“We should be good at Iowa,” Gill said after his win in the opening round of
the Championship Series at Mansfield. “We’ve been good all year, but we just
haven’t put it all together. We won’t know who wins the title until the last
lap of the last race, but I like our chances.”
While Gill’s win in the first race puts him in prime position to make a run at
the title, several other drivers need to rebound at Iowa Speedway after
lackluster efforts at Mansfield.
Michael Ritch, driver of the No. 28s Naturally Fresh/Jackaroo Ford, picked up
the Aaron’s Southern Division title, but the veteran had mechanical failure,
finished 30th in Championship Series opener and dropped to fifth in the
standings.
Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 29 Chevy Racing/DEI Chevrolet, also suffered a
mechanical failure at Mansfield and fell to 13th in the standings after
entering the Championship Series as a No. 2 Seed.
But don’t expect Gary St. Amant, the overall point leader, to allow everyone to
waltz back into championship contention.
“I’m looking forward to Iowa,” said St. Amant, who has a series-best 4.8
average finish this season and a 2.8 average finish in the past five races. “We
had the best car we’ve ever had at Mansfield. That makes me really excited for
the rest of the year.”
The excitement will begin on Friday at Iowa Speedway with a practice session
and the first Soy Biodiesel “Fan Fair.”
The Soy Biodiesel “Fan Fair” is part of fan appreciation activities associated
with the running of the USAR Soy Biodiesel 225 Hooters Pro Cup Series race
scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday, September 22. Fan Fair will offer racing fans
an opportunity to attend a news conference, tour the media center, visit with
USAR drivers and tour the USAR garage area, listen to USAR tech talks, view a
pit stop demonstration, see the Fire Safety Team in action, and watch a
demonstration of driver safety apparel. The public is invited free of charge.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, practice for the event will start at 10:30 a.m. and run
until 12:30 p.m. Front gates will open at 2:30 p.m. for the general public.
Awesome Awnings Pole Qualifying will start 3:30 p.m. Country artist Craig
Morgan will perform at 4:45 p.m. outside Turn 4 on the concert stage. During
the concert, the starting field for the event will be signing autographs beside
the concert stage starting at 5 p.m. A Legends Car feature will start at 6 p.m.
and be followed by pre-race ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. The green flag for the Soy
Biodiesel 225 will fall at 7 p.m.

will invade Iowa Speedway for the second stop of the 2007 Championship
Series. This will also be the second HPCS event held at Iowa Speedway.
• Last season at Iowa Speedway it was
Howard and Howard writing their names in the record books with Shelby Howard
setting fast time in qualifying and Woody Howard winning the event, leading
only one lap.

featured a series’ record number of lead changes, 25 among 15 different
drivers.
• Gary St. Amant currently holds a 20 point

Timmonsville, SC (September 16, 2007) – On the 22nd
of September, the SENECA Late Model Supertruck Series returns to FMS as the
featured racing entertainers! On the
last Supertruck weekend, Ronnie “Flash” Daniels won the Watermelon Pole Award
with a lap that was three one-hundredths faster than the third place starter
and feature winner, Strom Altman.
Altman let the race come to him as he followed Daniels and Robert Powell
for the first quarter of the feature.
Feeling the power of the Performance Counts Racing Dodge engine, Altman
took command of the race and led Daniels and Powell to the checkered flag. Also on the schedule will be the John
Newsome Action Ford/Mercury Thunder & Lightning Series, Stock 4 Cylinders,
Road Warriors, and "Hair of the Dog" Energy Drink Young Guns. An added feature of the evening will be the
new Bomber class that features “strictly stock” street-cars and the kids can
have some racing fun in the Peddle Car and Bike races. You’ll be able to see all the racing action
for only $9.99 with a general admission ticket.
This past Saturday evenings racing action culminated with
Wayne Locklair taking home another feature win for Fat Boy’s Auto Sales, in the
John Newsome GM Superstore Late Model Stock Car Series. Raef Judd returned after a lengthy absence
and raced his new Charleston Crab House, Fire Engine Red #9 to a second place
finish. Michael Cooper raced to third
ahead of Justin Shorter and Joey Rheuark.
Jon Martin collected his second feature win of the season after holding
off Curtis Peoples. Peoples came on
strong in the last five laps, as Martin’s tires were wearing out, but Martin
managed to maintain control and win. Regina June added another, feature win decal to the #12sc Taqueria
Josephina’s Mexican Restaurant Camaro, but only after a few battle scars were
left on the cars white paint. Mike
Caddell, Brent Blalock, Wade Baker and Jeff Melton made it tough on the “Jewel”
of FMS, a great race with a lot of action.
Trey Malphus kept Neal Anderson, Michael Gainey, Al Goodrich and Ralph
Simmons in check for the Road Warrior feature.
Clint Coker put the GLASSCO Mini Truck in victory lane for a second
consecutive week after a spectacular race with Josh Lee and Richard
Barnhill. Archie Adams Sr. and Adam
Dowling were locked in a great battle for their finishing positions. Russ Turner Jr. won another consecutive
“Hair of the Dog” Energy Drink Young Gun Series feature, in a great race with
the youngest Rodonis! Tanner must have
felt some pressure for his brother not being able to race due to mechanical
problems and put on a great effort of competition with Turner! Mom’s can be proud of the talent shown by
these young men! Timmy Flowers was also
very exciting to watch, as well as the ladies, Nicole Dennis and Taylor June.
See great racing each week at FMS and introduce a friend
to the excitement of local short track racing "Southern Style"! The racing season is far from over with more
special features on the Excitement Racing Calendar. Look for the Faster Pastors on Sept. 29th and the
SENECA Fall Classic 600 in November.
