“There isn’t a better way to know what’s going on at the track than to be listening to the action on this great little radio. I’ve used the RACEceiver SW 1600 for the past couple of years now and have recently started using the "NEW" TruScan and found it to be the perfect scanner for me. It would be an asset for any local short track race fan or team member! “

Born to race; it’s the only thing he can remember wanting to do. He was born and raised only minutes from “The Track Too Tough Too Tame”, so it would have been hard to not want to race. He’s been around racing his entire life, traveling to local race tracks with his family since he was six-weeks old.
Dange has an excellent working knowledge of a racecar, along with the driving ability to compete with the best. It’s not often that you find that in a driver these days. Dange has taken the old-school approach to racing, working his way from the bottom to the top, learning not only how to drive, but also how to build and maintain his cars along the way.
2006 He received an offer to run a limited schedule in the Hooters Pro Cup series for a southern division team. After qualifying for the Championship, Dange signed on to run for the Hooter Pro Cup Championship with NASCAR Busch team, Mac Hill Motorsports in the #65s Chevy Monte Carlo SS and finish 2 points short of the Rookie of the Year.
In 2007, Hanniford will run the full schedule in the Southern Hooters Pro Cup division and compete in his first NASCAR Busch series race at Richmond on May 4, 2007.

MARTINSVILLE, VA
(September 19, 2007) – A record 123 race cars showed up at Martinsville
Speedway Wednesday and 122 of them were in Philip Morris’ rearview mirror.
The traditional open test day for the
Bailey’s 300 Late Model Stock car race, scheduled for Sept. 30, drew an
astounding number of entries to shake their cars down for the biggest NASCAR
Late Model Stock race of the year. One-hundred and twenty-three cars were on
hand and 113 drivers. Several teams had two cars for the test.
But for the entire day-long session Morris,
the defending NASCAR Whelen Weekly Racing Series national champion, posted the
quickest speeds of the day.
“We were pretty good,” said defending
Bailey’s 300 winner Alex Yontz. “But Philip was by far the quickest.”
Yontz’ sentiment was echoed by just about
every other driver in the garage area on a day that the garage was packed with
Late Model Stock cars from up and down the Eastern Seaboard.
Close on Morris’ tail was Wayne Ramsey of
Amherst, VA, the polesitter for last year’s race, Frank Deiny, a former
Bailey’s 300 winner and 16-year-old Matt DiBenedetto, making his first laps
around the difficult half-mile track.
“We were OK. We learned a lot,” the
Deiny, making only his third or fourth Late
Model start this season, was strong off the truck and didn’t even put in a full
day’s work.
“We were good,” said Deiny. “I’ve never
quit up here at 1:30 before and I quit at 1:30 today. I quit before anybody
figured out I was fast.”
Timothy Peters, who won the Bailey’s 300 two
years ago, broke out a new car for Wednesday’s test and wound up struggling a
good portion of the day.
“We’ve got the new-car blues,” said Peters.
“We’re pretty happy, though, for it being a new car. Nothing real bad is wrong
with the car. We’ve just got to find the sweet spot.”
The Bailey’s 300
is scheduled for Sunday, September 30th, with practice and time
trials the day before.
Tickets for the Bailey’s 300 are $20 for
adults, children 6-12 $5 and under 6 free. Tickets may be purchased by calling
877.RACE.TIX or by visiting www.racetickets.com
online.
On the first day of testing, teams were also slowed by
rain showers and only got on the track for an afternoon session.
Drivers that participated in the test included Denny
Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing), 2007 Daytona 500 pole winner David Gilliland (Yates
Racing), David Stremme (Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates), Mark Green
subbing for Michael Waltrip (Michael Waltrip Racing) and recent NEXTEL Cup
Series winner Clint Bowyer (Richard Childress Racing).

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., -- The future arrived at Daytona
International Speedway on Tuesday as Goodyear kicked off a two-day Car of
Tomorrow tire test with five NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series teams in preparation for
the historic 50th running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 17.
Drivers that participating in the test include Denny
Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing), 2007 Daytona 500 pole winner David Gilliland (Yates
Racing), David Stremme (Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates), Mark Green
subbing for Michael Waltrip (Michael Waltrip Racing) and recent NEXTEL Cup
Series winner Clint Bowyer (Richard Childress Racing).
The Car of Tomorrow, a five-year project by NASCAR’s
Research and
NASCAR’s next generation race car made its debut in the
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series earlier this year and was scheduled to be used in 16
races.
It will be utilized on a full-time basis in 2008 and will
make its debut at DIS in the 50th running of the Daytona 500 on
Sunday, Feb. 17.
Rain slowed the first day of testing, which Goodyear is
using to test different tire compounds and structures. The morning session of
the test was rained out but the teams got on the track just after noon.
Intermittent rain showers did slow the afternoon session.
“Obviously, it’s a Goodyear tire test for all of us,”
Bowyer said. “We’re trying to come here and bring the best tire back that we
can and use our input and the information that the guys get from us being on
the race track. With the way the weather is, we really need to get out there.”
This isn’t the first time the Car of Tomorrow has been on
track at “The World Center of Racing.” Earlier this year during Preseason
Thunder testing, Penske drivers Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman shook down their
Dodges for a few laps.
Waiting out the rain gave Bowyer more time to reflect on
his first career NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series win last weekend in
Bowyer, driving the No. 07
“We needed a win,” Bowyer said. “That’s exactly what our
race team needed confidence wise and momentum wise. The timing couldn’t have
been better, the first race of the Chase.
“Getting things started off on the right foot means so
much. I’m very excited to be in the position we’re win. I went into this thing
12th and now we’re fourth and 15 points out of the lead. It’s
unbelievable.”
Bowyer feels confident about his team’s chance entering
the remaining races of the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup.
“I told the media coming into these races, my best race
tracks are these last 10 races,” Bowyer said. “They are tracks that I’m
comfortable with and confident with. Going into them, that means a lot.
“Hopefully we can get us another win or two by the end of
the year and compete for this championship. That’s what it’s all about. It’s
such a big deal and a huge honor to be part of this Chase. We’re going to have
fun with it and push as hard as we can and see where we end up.”
The Goodyear tire test with the Car of Tomorrow continues
on Wednesday and is free and open to the public with access to the Oldfield
Grandstand through The Daytona 500 Experience motor

(Edgar, WI, September 17,
2007) Sports of every kind are chasing "The Illusive Fan," and
Ben Shields, coauthor of the book of the same name, subtitled "Reinventing
Sports in a Crowded Marketplace," will deliver keynote remarks when the
Thirty-Fifth Annual RPM Promoters Workshops convene this Fall. Three
followup sessions will put his theoretical findings into practical focus.
Fifteen additional sessions, covering the breadth of weekly race track operation,
emphasizing practical ideas adaptable to any short track, complete the agenda.
The Thirty-Fifth Annual RPM Promoters Workshops Series begins 29 November-1
December, 2007, in Reno, NV, and concludes during Speedweek, February 11-13,
2009, in Lake Mary, FL. The Workshops, produced by Racing Promotion
Monthly and presented by K&K Insurance and Hoosier Racing Tire, return this
Winter to the Eldorado Hotel Casino, Reno, and the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary,
Lake Mary, FL.
Putting Shield's remarks in focus, will be super sport fans, Kevin and Karen
Flynn, who will share notes taken at more than 100 different games at as many
venues--a paying fans'-eye view of pro and minor league ball and racing, and
Jacob Agajanian, who last season packed Irwindale Speedway exclusively using
Web media, and will explain how promoters can adapt his techniques to reach the
digital generation.
In keeping with Workshops mission, other sessions will discuss, in depth, the
day-to-day issues promoters face. Among them: "Ticket and Cash
Management." For new promoters: "The Short Track Short
Course." Covering sponsorship: "Finding and Keeping
Partners." And "Eat, Drink & Be Merry," discussing
food and beverage operations. In TechSpec, experts address racing rules and
enforcement, the issues surrounding "crate" and "built"
engines, and broader chassis and competition tech issues. "Line Up,
Brush Up," will discuss scoring. Two more sessions explore pressing
current issues--"Hard Surface, Hard Times," and "Digging
Dirt" explore why dirt racing is booming and pavement is not.
Finally, the "Risky Business Forum" discusses insurance and risk
management. Another highlight of the Workshops is the 12 hours of
informal networking time scheduled into the agenda.
The meetings are the 94th and 95th produced by Racing Promotion Monthly since
1974. More than 1400 track operators, their employees, and industry
leaders attended last year's Workshops. Racing Promotion Monthly, the
idea newsletter of auto racing promoters, and the Workshops are produced with
the year-round support of K&K Insurance Group, Inc., Hoosier Racing
Tire. The Workshops are produced with additional support from, the
Eldorado Hotel Casino, INEX, GM Performance Parts, MUSCO Sports Lighting,
Moffett Productions, Simes Graphic Designs, DIRTcar, Lucas Oil Products and
Raceceiver. More information is available from RPM at 715-536-1067, or on
