Latest ASA Late Model Series Press Releases
1. The ASA Late Model
Series....and now the rest of the story.
Lexington, Michigan (10/23/2007): The ASA Late Model Series is a premier and
distinctive late model touring series. A series that was born into its rich
grassroots history through the racers for the racers.
The series has always been a topic of interest to the fans, racers, media and
other series across the country. What makes this series so intriguing to so
many?
It all started back in 2002 when an idea was born on (believe it or not) a
message board. (The Michigan Short Track Racing Club). The idea was to start a
late model crate engine series that was cost effective with a rules package
created by racers to keep the cost of racing down.
Talk is one thing especially on a message board, but to take the next step and
host a meeting about a new series created by racers is another thing. That is
just what happened.
In February of 2002 in Lansing, Michigan; Select drivers were invited to
discuss the rules that had been formulated to date and to design a USPRO Cup
race car. Tim Felver, Mark Kortz and Phil Massuch, all super late model
champions, as well as drivers from factory stock to limited late model to
modified drivers attended the "invitation only " meeting.

and third overall for the T.D. Racing Development Team, which for the first two
titles fell under the WalTom Racing banner. Snyder won his first career ASALMS
Northern Division championship for his underfunded Trent Snyder Racing Team.
A plethora of ASALMS teams will converge onto the Tennessee State Fairgrounds,
better known as the Music City (TN) Motorplex in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday
and Saturday November 2-3, 2007 for the special non-points Adam Petty Memorial
/ All-American 200.
Joining the ASALMS contingent in Music City will be the CRA Super Series, who

Lexington, Michigan (10/23/2007): The ASA Late Model Series Southern Division

The ASALMS would like to congratulate Macon, Georgia driver, Beau Slocumb on
his third ASALMS Southern Division Feature Win of the 2007 season as the
22-year-old took over the lead from Ryan Lawler on Lap 115 and would go on and
survive an unusual end to the race which saw the last three laps run under the
caution flag.

the craziest races in ASA Late Model Series history; Slocumb survived an ASALMS
record 18 caution flags to win his third ASALMS Southern Division Feature of

Born to race; it’s the only thing he can remember wanting to do. He was born and raised only minutes from “The Track Too Tough Too Tame”, so it would have been hard to not want to race. He’s been around racing his entire life, traveling to local race tracks with his family since he was six-weeks old.
Dange has an excellent working knowledge of a racecar, along with the driving ability to compete with the best. It’s not often that you find that in a driver these days. Dange has taken the old-school approach to racing, working his way from the bottom to the top, learning not only how to drive, but also how to build and maintain his cars along the way.
2006 He received an offer to run a limited schedule in the Hooters Pro Cup series for a southern division team. After qualifying for the Championship, Dange signed on to run for the Hooter Pro Cup Championship with NASCAR Busch team, Mac Hill Motorsports in the #65s Chevy Monte Carlo SS and finish 2 points short of the Rookie of the Year.
In 2007, Hanniford will run the full schedule in the Southern Hooters Pro Cup division and compete in his first NASCAR Busch series race at Richmond on May 4, 2007.

SPARTANBURG, SC
(October 23, 2007) – At 22 years-old Jeremy Clements has already experienced
his share of challenges, testaments of will and miracles following a horrific
racing incident that nearly cost him his right hand in 2004. Thanks to the
dedication and skill of a team of doctors led by Dr. Joseph Molnar at Wake
Forest University’s Baptist Medical Center, the talented, young racer is now
able to live his dream and help others in the process.
Weeks prior to the NASCAR Busch Series’ event at nearby Lowe’s Motor Speedway,
Jeremy received the call he had waited for after countless reconstructive
surgeries and hundreds of hours of physical therapy. John McGill, owner
of the No. 36 McGill Motorsports team from nearby Boiling Springs, extended a
generous offer to allow the Palmetto State driver to join his team for that
race.
Seizing the opportunity, the Spartanburg racer reunited with former ARCA RE/MAX
Series’ crew chief Ricky Pearson and had a strong showing in a race studded
with nineteen Nextel Cup drivers. Jeremy and the unsponsored No. 36 team
advanced eleven spots for a strong top-25 finish and proved to be a strong duo.
“I am so thankful for John & Nancy McGill, Ricky Pearson and the entire No.
36 team for the opportunity. And also for my long-time friends and
supporters The Saxon Group and Kelly Hamrick for their contributions,” noted
Clements. “They are helping me make my dream a reality. We had a
car that continued to improve and unfortunately got caught up in a wreck after
the leader spun late in the race and that slowed more progress but I am
confident going in to this weekend’s race at Memphis.”
McGill extended the offer for Clements to return to the seat of the No. 36 for
two of the four remaining races – Memphis Motorsports Park and Texas Motor
Speedway. Both events will be debut performances for the ARCA RE/MAX Series’
competitor and may open doors to conclude the season with the team as they
continue to make strides both on and off the track.
"If we wouldn't have got caught in that wreck, that kid would have
finished in the top 15 at Lowe's against all of those Nextel Cup guys,"
crew chief Ricky Pearson said. "That run got our whole team excited.
Jeremy drove hard every lap. We haven't had that all year. We're going to give
him a couple of more shots."
The McGill’s have extended their generosity to help a worthy cause and
participate in St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s “Racing to Save Lives”
campaign. The No. 36 Chevy that Jeremy will drive will feature a special paint
scheme designed by 8 year-old Michael who is a patient at the hospital.
In honor of the patients of St. Jude and to draw attention to the
miraculous work the staff provides to children there, McGill Motorsports and
fifteen other teams will carry these special schemes.
Clements is confident that his team will be able to continue to make strides
and build momentum towards the 2008 season.
"I'm pretty excited to have a chance to build off what we did at
Lowe's," he added. “That was one of the toughest races of the year
and we were able to make a strong advance. It will be my first race at
Memphis and on a short track but I have a lot of confidence in my team and I
know we will give it a valiant effort for St. Jude and Michael. If we can
hang on to be there in the end, I believe that we can earn a top-15 finish and
hopefully turn the heads of some potential sponsors.”
Jeremy Clements will be behind the wheel of the St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital emblazoned No. 36 McGill Motorsports Chevy for this Saturday’s “Sam’s
Town 250” at nearby Memphis Motorsports Park. The green flag will drop for the
event at 3:00 p.m. EST and be broadcasted on Sirius and MRN Radio along with
live televised coverage on ESPN2.
Boiling Springs, SC, based McGill Motorsports has given Clements the
opportunity to also compete in his first ever performance at Texas Motor
Speedway on November 3rd. Pending sponsorship for that event and the remaining
two events of the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series at Phoenix International Raceway
(Nov. 10) and Homestead-Miami Speedway (Nov. 17), Clements may be able to wrap
up the season on a high-note with the team. Organizations looking to get on the
advertising fast track and join forces with McGill Motorsports and Jeremy
Clements should contact John McGill at (561) 741-6108 or online at http://www.mcgillmotorsports.com

is available online at http://www.jeremyclementsracing.com and you can register for
