Ø Legends Action Sizzles This Friday Night at AMS
Anderson - The action will be heating up on the track this Friday night (August 20th) at the Anderson Motor Speedway as the Legends Summer Sizzler presented by Mid State Roofing of Lexington headlines the race card. The 30 lap shootout will pay $1,250 to the winner with bonus money added throughout the pack. The purse may not be equal to Charlotte’s “Million Dollar Race”, but it’s a pretty good payday for one lucky driver. Legends drivers from across the Carolinas and Georgia are expected to compete.
In addition to the Summer Sizzler, “Tucker Materials Night at the Races” will feature five exciting divisions of stock car racing. The Talking Phone Book Renegades will pay $300 to the winner, Super Renegades will return after a week’s absence, B Mini Stocks, BM Modified and the newest addition to the AMS program, the Front Wheel Drives.
Kids 12 and under can try their luck at racing the 3/8 mile asphalt oval on bicycles. AMS Drivers have sponsored each of the 4 age divisions (2-4; 5-6; 7-9; 10-12 year olds). Trophies and a cash prize will be awarded to the winners. Kids need a bicycle helmet to participate. Plus free face-painting for all kids.
Gates open at 5PM and racing begins at 8PM. Grandstand adult admission is $10 and kids under 12 are admitted free.
AMS is located just off I-85 at Exit 27 onto Highway 81 North in Anderson.
