(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - January 14,
2011) – Milka
Duno and her Sheltra Motorsports team created a big splash during the 2011 ARCA
Racing Series presented by Menards three-day test session at Daytona
International Speedway (DIS) this week. The 2010 championship-winning
team returned to the track looking to get ARCA Racing Series rookie Milka Duno
ready for the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 on February 12th and delivered the same
top results they grew accustomed to last season.
Duno hit the
newly-paved Daytona International Speedway for the first of three days of
testing on Tuesday. Making her return to a stock car for the first time
since last year’s ARCA season opener, Duno turned in a fast time of 49.37
seconds (182.293 mph). The time put her No. 63 Dodge Charger fifth on the
speed charts.
The Jon Wolfe
led team returned for round two of testing Wednesday morning looking to try a
few different setups in the morning session. Running 26 laps in the
three-hour session, Duno posted a best time of 49.70 seconds (181.057
mph). ARCA Racing Series officials opened the track for the first
drafting session Wednesday afternoon. Duno led a pack of five cars around
the 2.5-mile oval for a few laps before dropping to the back of the pack to see
how her No. 63 Dodge would react in the draft. During the draft Duno
posted a fast time of 48.67 seconds (184.907 mph) putting her second on the
speed charts for much of the session.
“We made many
changes today to improve the car and make it faster,” stated Duno. “We had the
second-fastest time until the track cooled and the next drafting pack was able to turn a slightly faster time. We will try a
few more changes and keep working on the draft tomorrow.”
The final day
of testing led to more single car runs in the morning session. Crew Chief
Jon Wolfe tried several different setups running a total of 10 laps. The
focus returned to drafting again in the afternoon’s final test session.
Running a total of 32 laps, Duno drafted in two different five to eight car
packs. She took turns taking her No. 63 machine to the front of the pack
and dropping to the back working to get the feel of drafting up to another car
and passing. Duno finished the day with the sixth-fastest time, rounding
the legendary track with a time of 48.727 seconds (184.703 mph).
“We focused
today on drafting and we ended up with pretty good results,” said Duno. “This
was just the third day working with the team we’re working together very well.
They are a great group of people and they know what they’re doing – it is a
fantastic opportunity for me.”
After the
three-day test session, Duno and her Sheltra Motorsports team are ready to hit
the track for the first of 19 events on the 2011 schedule and are looking for
strong results when the ARCA Racing Series takes the green flag on Daytona’s
high banks Saturday, February 12th.
“Milka did
extremely well this week,” said Wolfe. “I think we got what we wanted out
of the test. We look forward to getting back to DIS in February where we
can spend more time drafting and practicing in larger packs. She will
give a good performance when the green flag drops on race day.”

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - January
13, 2011) - - The Buckeye State of Ohio is being
well represented in the Sunshine State of Florida this week at Daytona (Fla.)
Speedway. Tony Marks Racing (TMR) headquartered in Napoleon, Ohio has
successfully left an impression on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards
circuit as their multi-car effort led by veteran racer and now crew chief Larry
Moore has put their No. 12 Dodge Charger into the limelight.
Piloted by
NASCAR driver Chase Austin, rising female sensation Maryeve
Dufault and Champion Racing Association (CRA)
competitor Jared Marks, the rookie team spent the first two days (Tuesday and
Wednesday) of ARCA Racing Series testing at the newly re-paved 2.5-mile
speedway getting their car up to speed and their drivers comfortable with the
new and extremely fast asphalt.
On Tuesday, Dufault, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series pilot edged out
Austin for the fastest TMR time after placing her machine 17th out
of 40th on the speed charts. Austin followed in 18th. Dufault was one of three female drivers testing on the
first day behind Milka Duno (Dodge) and ahead of Hannah Baker
(Chevrolet).
Leaving the
track with some satisfaction, the team returned for round two Wednesday looking
for additional seat time and solid results. In their eyes, mission
accomplished.
Dufault was again the prime target for the
newly founded-race team and was the only driver behind the wheel of their
Chrysler emblem Wednesday morning during the three-hour session which resulted
in a 23rd place single-car run.
Yesterday afternoon,
ARCA Racing Series officials opened up the legendary track to drafting. The
Tony Marks Racing team opted to play it safe though and continued with
single-car runs for much of the afternoon before dabbling just a little bit on
the defying skill of drafting, which zones heavily on superspeedway racing,
much like Daytona or its sister track, Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.
For the first
time of the week, 16-year old Jared Marks, son of car owner Tony Marks hopped
in the seat of the No. 12a Charger and wheeled his automobile around the track
in 49.830 seconds or a tick over 180.550 miles per hour. It was a solid lap
time for the teenage racer, who under ARCA Racing Series sanctioning age
restrictions is allowed to test but not race at the historic facility. The team
admitted though that comfort, not speed was the primary agenda for the
second-generation racer.
Dufault clocked in her inaugural drafting lap
Wednesday afternoon with a time of 49.781 seconds amounting to a speed of
180.792 miles per hour landing her a respectable 31st on the
rundown.
“We’re happy
with the results thus far in Daytona,” said Tony Marks, owner of Tony Marks
Racing. “In a short time, I feel like we’ve been able to build a strong team
with a talented group of people. So far, we’ve achieved all of our goals here
in Daytona and look to use the last day (Thursday) as a prime opportunity to
further push our team into the spotlight. All three of our drivers are doing a
tremendous job. What they are learning is valuable not only in ARCA but
stock-car racing in general. They still have a lot to learn here in Daytona and
ahead in 2011, but I’m very pleased with the overall effort of TMR this
week.”
Testing will
conclude at 5:00 p.m. Thursday evening for the ARCA Racing Series presented by
Menards. The three-day test is preparation for the first of 19 events on the
2011 calendar which begins on Saturday, February 12th, 2011 live on
SPEED. Dufault, the Los Angeles resident is expected
to lead the two-car team for TMR next month from the “World Center of
Racing.”
Tony Marks
Racing hopes to sport two cars in the 2011 season-opener with Dufault and possibly Austin as a teammate. The schedule
will turn later in the year and allow Marks behind the second-car team for up
to 11 races, including much of the series’ short track contests.
Before
tackling the breathtaking Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway this week, the
freshman organization spent Monday testing at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway
allowing the team to shake down their short-track program with all three TMR
protégés being allowed priceless seat time behind the wheel. Dufault will make her ARCA Racing Series short track debut
at Salem (Ind.) Speedway on May 1, 2011.
About Tony Marks Racing (TMR):
Tony Marks
Racing was founded in 2009 through the passion for racing of team owner and
former driver Tony Marks. Marks is the successful owner of TMT, Inc., a
logistics, warehousing and packaging company with over 400 employees whose customers
are mainly comprised of Fortune 100 companies.
Marks began
his racing career in 1985 getting behind the wheel of everything from drag
racers, Dirt Late Models, SCCA Formula Fords, USAC F2000 Open Wheel and ARCA
cars. Tony personally raced until 2005 amassing numerous wins,
championships and track records along the way until he then changed his
focus from driver to owner and began building racing programs for his children
Jared (16 years old) and Rachel (13 years old). Under the auspices of
TMR, Jared began his racing career in 2002 in quarter midgets and now competes
in late model, CRA, ASA and ARCA Series events while Rachel continues her
development program racing quarter midgets and Bandoleros.
TMR has been at the forefront of charitable giving through its’ “Driving
Against Hunger” and “Million Meal Challenge” race programs which have raised
over $200,000 for Forgotten Harvest in 2010 at the NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series events at Michigan International Speedway.
For the NASCAR
events TMR along with TMT, Inc. partnered with Forgotten Harvest for the
“Million Meal Challenge For Our Kids” which helps to bridge the hunger gap
while schools are out of session and feeds 20,000
children per day in the Detroit metro area. Forgotten Harvest was
significantly displayed on the entry of Chase Austin during both the Truck and
Nationwide events at Michigan International Speedway along with logos of
“Million Meal Challenge” sponsors Walgreen’s, United Race Group, Holyfield’s
Choice Alka-Power Water and Vitamin Spice.
Evander Holyfield was also instrumental in the challenge, acting as Grand
Marshall for the August race and announcing his “Fight Against
Hunger” on behalf of Forgotten Harvest.
As the first
race team to “Drive Against Hunger” through their partnership with Forgotten
Harvest, TMR plans to continue their alliance with Forgotten Harvest and once
again “Drive Against Hunger” during the 2011 season.

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - January
12, 2011) – Milka Duno delivered strong results on
Day One of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards testing at Daytona
International Speedway with Sheltra Motorsports, the 2010 ARCA Racing Series
presented by Menard’s Champion.
Duno, piloting
the team’s No. 63 Dodge Charger, was seventh quickest of 29 cars in today’s
morning session and fifth quickest of 40 cars in the afternoon session.
In the morning
session Duno completed five laps with a best time of 50.06 seconds at 179.763
mph and improved in a 27-lap afternoon session to a best time of 49.37 at
182.293 mph.
This was Duno’s first time behind the wheel of a stock car since she
competed in the ARCA Racing Series season-opener at Daytona one year ago.
Crew Chief Jon
Wolfe and his crew made some adjustments to the car between sessions and worked
with Duno to continue getting her comfortable in the car and to try new lines
on the track. Patrick Sheltra worked with her throughout the day to help her
get the most out of the car.
“It was a good
practice today and I was very impressed with the team and how professional they
were,” said Duno. “We are looking for more speed and will work hard over the
next two days to get faster. It was great to get Patrick’s input, and it was a
big help. He’s the 2010 champion, and he knows what to do.”

(DAYTONA
BEACH, Fla. - January 12, 2011) - - Sometimes, the term “better late than
never” can be accepted in racing. For Brian Rose Motorsports, a new entity in
the ARCA Racing Series (ARS) presented by Menards, the term couldn’t have been
more perfect.
After a
monstrous winter storm crippled much of the mid-west and south east Sunday
night and Monday, Brian Rose and his Brian Rose Motorsports team were trapped
in the wintry mix that included ice and snow and unable to make the haul to
Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway for the first of a three-day open test
session.
Luckily, road
and weather conditions improved on Tuesday that allowed the team to slowly but
carefully maneuver through the 10 hour plus drive to the Sunshine State to
tackle the newly re-paved 2.5-mile monster track Wednesday morning.
Planning to
test for the remaining two days (Wednesday and Thursday), the first open test
of the New Year will mark the first tango for Louisville, Kentucky native Brian
Rose at the wheel of the No. 4 Harris Trucking / Team ASE Toyota Camry at the
newly re-paved DIS.
Though Rose and
his posse are new to ARCA, the team has some experience at the Daytona Beach,
Fla. track. In 2002, the now part-time NASCAR driver competed in the NASCAR
Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season-opener at Daytona, qualifying an
impressive fourth, leading several laps and finishing a career-best and stout
third in the No. 4 Dodge Ram for Bobby Hamilton Racing.
Nearly a
decade later, Rose returns to the “World Center of Racing” honored to boast the
No. 4 again while also hoping to make an early impression in the ARCA Racing
Series.
“We’ve been
working hard for this test and despite the weather, we’re still here,” said
Rose, who will attempt to make his first ARCA Racing Series start in next
month’s Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona. “I have a great group of guys
behind me and I think this test definitely will give us a baseline on which
direction we’re heading.”
Rose
continued, “I’m looking forward to competing in the ARCA Racing Series. It’s a
great series and I’m embracing the opportunity to bring my new team to such a
diverse series. This won’t be our only ARCA race in 2011, but we’re hoping to
leave a lasting impression that will carry over into our next event.”
Danny
Rollins, well respected in the NASCAR community will serve as the crew chief for
Brian Rose Motorsports. Rollins was the man responsible for guiding the
young-gun to his first career NASCAR top-five finish at Daytona (Fla.) Speedway
nine years ago.
Harris
Trucking and Team ASE have leaped aboard as marketing partners in the No. 4 Toyota
Camry for the first of 19 events on the 2011 ARS calendar, but the freshman
team is planning to announce more supporters in the next couple of weeks
leading up to ARCA’s biggest race of the season.
About Brian Rose Motorsports
(BRM):
From 2001-2010,
Brian Rose competed in 41 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) events.
Driving for successful car owners such as the late Bobby Hamilton Sr., Billy
Ballew and Rick Ware, he has scored five top-10 finishes including a third
place effort in his restrictor plate debut at Daytona (Fla.) International
Speedway after qualifying fourth in 2002. Rose has controlled the NCWTS field
for 35 laps in four events.
A new decade
means a new beginning. In 2011, Rose, a native of Louisville, Kentucky will
re-brand himself in the racing world by launching his own team, Brian Rose
Motorsports (BRM) near Louisville, Kentucky. With the intent to run a full
platter of events in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, NASCAR
Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), NASCAR Nationwide Series and Late Model
events across the country, Rose is expected to blossom back to the top on and
off the race track.
Stay tuned for

(MOORESVILLE, N.C. - January 11, 2011) - The
weather in Mooresville, NC might be snow and ice this January, but
25-year-old Louisiana native Hal Martin, nicknamed "the Ragin' Cajun" in racing - is ready to kick it up a
notch in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Daytona. The Gulf Coast
native has signed with legendary Venturini Motorsports and its championship team to run select races in 2011 - beginning with the
Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona International Speedway.
Martin, one of
only a handful of college graduates in stock car racing - as a mechanical
engineering graduate from the University of New Orleans - was also a top-10
finisher at the 2010 ARCA race in Talladega for Venturini Motorsports.
Martin will begin his 2011 season piloting a Venturini Motorsports Toyota
at the newly-repaved 2.5-mile superspeedway for three days of ARCA Series open
testing today through Thursday.
"I'm
really looking forward to hitting the track again at Daytona," Martin
said. "I had a bit of a head start on the field by being able to
participate in the Hoosier Tire Test here in December for Venturini Motorsports
- so I feel I had a good chance to get somewhat acclimated to the track with
some laps logged. Any seat time is fantastic, so I'm ready to jump back
in for not only three more days of testing, but also a solid year with several
starts. We're in this for solid finishes for a championship team."
Tom
Venturini, Public Relations Director at Venturini Motorsports, is
optimistic about Martin's potential in the Venturini stable in 2011.
"We've got strong talent among all of our drivers, and our
reputation stands behind the equipment and support we're able to provide each
and every one of them. Hal has proven his talent for our organization in
the past, as well as on the gulf coast late model tracks. We're really
excited to see how he'll perform this season. He has tremendous talent. We're
hopeful he will not only add more top 10s to that resume, but also top 5s and
maybe even a trip to Victory Lane."
Despite the
fact that Martin did not get behind the wheel of his first car until he was 15
years old, his success came at early with the Louisiana State Shifter Kart
Championship in 2004. After completing several successful prestigious driving
programs, Martin also went on to become the Mobile International Speedway Track
Champion in the Pro Late Model Division in 2007. He was also crowned
Louisiana State Champion in 2007 by Late
Model Digest and took two more wins at gulf coast tracks in 2008.
"In 2009
and 2010, I was able to get a good variety in my driving and also get
experience at different tracks," Martin continued. "When the call
came to race Talladega for the Venturinis, I jumped at
the chance. It's the opportunity that every driver wants - to be able to
showcase his or her driving skills with a championship organization. We're
actively working on securing marketing partners for additional racetracks. I
know we're going to continue this momentum in 2011 together, and I'm ready to
go get some great results for such a respected team."
Martin plans
to make five official starts with Venturini Motorsports in 2011 - to include
Daytona, Talladega, Chicagoland, Pocono and Michigan. He joins teammates
Firestone Indy Lights driver Alastair Jackson, Joe Gibbs Racing development
driver Max Gresham and USAC Champion Darren Hagan in an impressive rookie class
of 2011 for Venturini Motorsports.
ABOUT VENTURINI MOTORSPORTS:
Venturini
Motorsports, fielding cars in the ARCA Racing Series, is one of the premier
NASCAR Driver Development Programs in the country. Since 2007, Venturini
Motorsports has assisted in the career development of notable NASCAR drivers
Joey Logano, Justin Allgaier, Scott Lagasse Jr., Brian Scott, John Wes Townley,
Marc Davis, Steve Arpin and Mikey Kile. For more information on the Venturini
Motorsports Driver Development program, visit www.VenturiniMotorsports.com. Find

title of 2007 Mobile International Speedway Track Champion; 2007 Louisiana
State Champion; and track record holder at Mobile International Speedway. Off

Tuesday, January
11, 2011, 2:09:40 PM | ARCA Racing Series
(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - January 11,
2011) - - Just
how bad or how early did Sean Corr want to arrive in Daytona Beach, Florida in
preparation for this week’s ARCA Racing Series (ARS) presented by Menards test
session? Bad.
Corr, the
aspiring driver for Empire Racing plowed his way down the interstate Saturday
night as the driver of the team’s 18-wheeler transporter arriving in the
Sunshine State in the wee hours of early Sunday morning, officially become the
first team to enter the track grounds for the first official test of the new
year.
Corr will
admit he’s not your average race car driver. Don’t let this humdrum New Yorker
fool you though; he’s all about business when it comes to his duties behind the
wheel of the No. 82 Empire Racing LLC Ford Fusion.
But, when the
opportunity arises to sink in and get dirty or pull an all-nighter and drive to
a test in hopes of potentially winning the biggest race of his racing career,
look for Corr to strike his way through the crowd and flock to the front of the
line.
“It doesn’t
bother me at all,” said Corr, in reference to driving the team’s hauler to the
2.5-mile Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. “We’re a team and I’m willing
and able to do whatever it takes to put us in contention. I’d rather drive the
hauler and allow the guys who bust their tails to get our Ford Fusion ready the
ability to recharge themselves.”
The Goshen,
New York native whose been hopscotching from The
Empire State to Race City USA, otherwise known as Mooresville, North Carolina
during much of the winter is fired up for this week’s three-day test for more
reasons than he can count. A new year, some fresh faces, a desirable attitude
and an ever-growing outlook has this avid dirt driver ready to make his
presence well known on the asphalt.
“I’m ready for
Daytona, even though it’s just a test,” noted Corr, who intends to run the full
ARCA Racing Series schedule this year. “The desire and “want” from this Empire
Racing team is like a disease. A favorable one. We
want it and we’re going for it. I have a good feeling about the car we’re
bringing to the track and hope we can unload in a zone that we’re comfortable
with and just improve as the week progresses.”
The Empire
Racing team-led by new crew chief and former ARCA racer Richard Johns will
bring a new Ford Fusion with Roush Yates horsepower to the “World Center of Speed”
after losing last year’s Daytona automobile in a multi-car incident at
Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.
“I hate to
lose a car the way we did,” recalled Corr. “We were running comfortably in the
top-seven and the big one unleashed with nowhere for us to go. It happens. It
stinks, but it’s just part of the game. We’ve been working hard though on
making sure that this car is as strong or even stronger than the one we had
last February.
It was though
on February 6, 2010, Corr gave an intuition of his ability to draft with the
best of the best in the ARCA Racing Series. After being knocked sideways and
cutting down a tire in the late stages of the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200, Corr
was able to wrestle his wounded but still strong blue oval from the back to a respectable
14th place finish after starting 26th.
“We worked
that day as a team. We came from the back to the front and vice-versa all race
long. I learned a lot and no doubt the experience will help me next month.
Though, we’re talking about a whole new game with the track being re-paved. The
track will be so smooth; your 3400-pound stock car will feel like a Cadillac.
Nonetheless, our intentions are to go have a strong test and come back and have
an even worthier performance in the race.”
Former Empire
Racing crew chief John Bellesfield who will take the
reins as team manager for the Mooresville, North Carolina-based operation this
year is extremely optimistic about the approaching test.
“We’ve put a
lot of endless man hours into putting this car together,” explained Bellesfield. “I think we’re going to have a real slick
piece for the test and the race. The team is excited to see Sean so
enthusiastic about getting behind the wheel. That energy from the driver only
gives us, the team the motivation to give him nothing but the best.”
Following the
test scheduled for this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Empire Racing will
trek back to North Carolina and begin their final check-in list for the running
of the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 set for Saturday, February 12, 2011 live on
SPEED.
The team still
enters the 58th year of ARCA competition without the foundation of a
primary marketing partner. However, the team feels they are close to making
some announcements in-time for the first of 19 ARCA races this season.

11, 2011, 2:09:40 PM | ARCA Racing Series
(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla
- January 11, 2011) - - As the 2011 racing season draws near,
the thought of the first green flag of the season can make a heartbeat jump.
And while most race car drivers are nestling in with their teams and focusing
on their objectives for the new year, rising sensation
Chad Hackenbracht has been nose-deep in the books of his Freshman year as a
student at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
This week
though, 19-year old Chad Hackenbracht will exchange those books for a steering
wheel and grasp a permission slip from his professors and head to Daytona
Beach, Florida to participate in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards
open-test session at the breathtaking 2.5-mile Daytona (Fla.) International
Speedway.
Hackenbracht,
driver of the No. 58 Tastee Apple Chevrolet Impala SS will spend three days
this week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) trying to nail down a successful
setup that will allow Hackenbracht’s family-owned CGH
Motorsports the opportunity to win at the “World Center of Speed” next
month.
Partaking in
his second-ever test session at the newly-paved restrictor plate track,
Hackenbracht and his Rodney Jockisch-led team will
focus on balance and speed in their bowtie Impala SS. The Concord, North
Carolina-based team also hasn’t ruled out participating in a “light” drafting
session before loading up and heading back to North Carolina to put the final
touches of their multi-color hot rod for the season opening Lucas Oil Slick
Mist 200 at Daytona, set for Saturday, February 12, 2011 live on SPEED.
“I’m looking
forward to getting back into a race car,” sounded Hackenbracht, who intends to
juggle a full-time college schedule while also hoping to become the next ARCA
Racing Series champion. “I’m ready to put the books away for a little bit and
get back behind the wheel at Daytona!”
The former
Legend Car Series (LCS) pilot added, “Rodney (Jockisch)
and the entire CGH Motorsports team have been working hard to put this car in
tip-top shape. Our first go-around with Daytona wasn’t pretty, but we won’t
dwell on the past, but instead move forward towards the present and show
everyone this year that CGH Motorsports means business.”
When asked
about the recent re-pavement at one of the most historical race tracks in the
United States, Hackenbracht commented, “From what I heard, Daytona is going to
be a really fast, intense race. Handling should no longer come into play. It’s
going to be about driving smart and using your head. I’m expecting the track to
drive a lot like Talladega, where the track is nearly as smooth as glass. It
sure is going to be an exciting way to kick off speedweeks!”
CGH
Motorsports is actively seeking additional marketing partners for the full 2011
ARCA Racing Series schedule. Single, multi and full-season placements are
available on the team’s No. 58 entries. Interested parties are urged to contact
Jordan Dahl at 570.234.5449 or jordandahl@cghmotorsports.com.
About CGH Motorsports:
CGH
Motorsports (CGHMotorsports.com), established in
2007 by Ohio entrepreneur Greg Hackenbracht is located in a 10,000 sq. foot
facility located in Concord, North Carolina. CGH Motorsports is home of rising
sensation Chad Hackenbracht, who competed in nine ARCA Racing Series races in
2010 after an aggressive ARCA testing schedule in 2009. Chad Hackenbracht is
the 2008 National Asphalt Legends champion, winning 33 percent of his races and
finishing in the top-10, 85 percent of the events he competed in. The team will
step up their commitment from a partial schedule and prepare for a hopeful
full-season ARCA championship assault beginning in February 2011.

(HUNTERSVILLE,
N.C. - January 11, 2011) – Jeremy Frankoski will be
among the drivers to participate in a three day open test session at Daytona
International Speedway beginning Tuesday, January 11th. The annual event
held by the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, will give Frankoski ample opportunity to experience the newly paved
racing surface on the legendary 2.5 mile high banked tri-oval.
“I’ve been
dreaming about racing Daytona all my life, so this is definitely a dream coming
true for me,” said the 24 year old Frankoski. “I’m
just so thankful to have this opportunity. At the same time, I know
there’s a lot of hard work ahead for me. There’s nothing in racing that
can prepare you for Daytona, so I’m relying on a lot of good people to help me
out.”
Florida
businessman Eddie Smith, owner of TEAM 42 RACING (NASCAR Nationwide Series),
recently named Jeremy as his Development Driver to compete in the ARCA Series
and select Nationwide events.
“TEAM 42
RACING is proud to have Jeremy Frankoski coming
aboard in our Development Driver program,” beamed Smith. “Jeremy is a very
talented driver and posses the type of character we are looking for on our
team. We are currently looking for new marketing partners with a strategic
marketing program to advance Jeremy’s promising career.”
Helping Frankoski get acquainted with Daytona this week will be
Andy Hillenburg and Fast Track Racing. Hillenburg’s Fast Track – High
Performance Driving School is also the official driving school of ARCA and USAR.
Hillenburg himself was the 1995 ARCA Champion and has won ARCA races twice at
Daytona in ’95 and ’97.
Frankoski has raced in a variety of open wheel
series and was the USAC Ford Focus Carolina Champion in 2009. Driving the
Calico Coatings Ford Focus Midget, he totaled 5 wins, 10 top five finishes, 6
pole qualifications and was honored by USAC with a Rookie of the Year
title. Prior to USAC, Jeremy was a two year stand out in NEMA midgets
where he also won a Rookie of the Year title driving for the Marine Engines
team in 2007. He currently holds a NEMA record for his first win at Beach
Ridge in 2007; one of only three rookies to win a race and fastest to do so
after only 6 races.
Jeremy also
has two years of full bodied racing experience. In 2009, he tested with
Tony Blanchard and raced in the PASS Independence 150 at Hickory Motor
Speedway, finishing 16th. Last year he ran a limited NASCAR Late Model schedule
at Myrtle Beach Speedway with Chad McCumbee Racing
and had 2 top five and 4 top ten finishes.
“Working with
Tony and then Chad gave me a lot of insight and a good chance to experience the
differences between open wheel and full bodied cars,” said Frankoski. “And
running somewhat regularly last year at Myrtle Beach helped me a lot. I
was really able to get more comfortable with the transition.”
At this time,
Jeremy Frankoski and TEAM 42 RACING are actively
seeking sponsoring partners to support a competitive schedule in
2011. ARCA will “kick off” the season in Daytona on February 12th with the
Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200; TEAM 42 hopes to have Jeremy at the wheel.

Apparently, age does matter in NASCAR, just now how you might think. Consider: In the last four years, the average age of the Chase drivers has increased nearly 4 years. Last year's Chase field had only one driver under the age of 30, while in 2007 six of the 12 drivers were under 30. Here's a look at the average age of Chase drivers the past four years
