A Trip-Of-A-Lifetime And The ‘American Dream’
BIOGRAPHY FOR SCMSRN.com
My name
is Freddy Guyunette and I come from Hastings in south-east England but from the
age of 9 I started boarding at Kings School in Rochester, Kent.
I met
Alan at school but it took a couple of years before we really became friends as
before then we never shared any classes. We must have been 15 when we first got
to know each other. I think we share the same laid back and slightly insane
personality so we became friends pretty quick.
As per usual we were paying no attention to
class and were instead talking about our gap year when the idea of the NASCAR
tour arose… I’m pretty useless at planning so my plan was just to see some
countries and apart from New-Zealand I had no idea which ones. Alan told me
about is plan to tour the NASCAR season for several months and watch the races.
It sounded pretty impressive and he told me I should join him, so I said OK
The
material planning (saving money, booking tickets etc.) started in July last
year after school had finished and I could get a job. Like I said my planning
skills are poor so Alan dealt with the booking of tickets and I just handed him
wads of cash for them!!! I worked for a local removal company from July to
November which was heavy-going but relatively good money and then headed for
NZ. Ten days later I headed to Japan to meet up with my girlfriend for 3 weeks
of sightseeing. Then back to NZ for another 5 or 6 weeks of fishing, shooting
and travelling. On 7th February I will meet up with Alan in Daytona
beach for our 4 months of NASCAR, and I can’t wait!!!!
