New Sponsors
(March 14, 2005) - Shannon Jordan announces she will be
competing in the Late Model Stock division at Myrtle Beach Speedway as a rookie
contender for 2005. She will be
wheeling the second LMS car for the Jordan Race Team, who has fielded the No.
17 Jordan’s Performance LMS car driven by Rick Smith for the last five years
and took Track Champion honors in 2003.
Smith will continue to drive the Jordan’s Performance No. 17 in 2005,
vying for a second track championship. Moving up from the Charger division, Jordan will be
driving the No. 92 LMS with new sponsorship.
The No. 92 was derived from a partnership with Eagle 92.9 and THAT’S
RACING for sponsorship on the car.
Eagle 92.9 is the leading country radio station in the Pee Dee area
and THAT’S RACING is a local racing talk radio show featuring Dan E. Lockemy
and Rudy Brandam on Monday nights from 7-8 pm. Also coming on as a new sponsor this year is The Horry
Independent newspaper. The Horry
Independent covers news in Horry County and is the largest weekly newspaper
in Horry County with over 6,000 paid subscribers. The Horry Independent will feature a column in the paper each week
highlighting the results from each of Shannon’s races. Sponsors that have continued on from past years are: Jordan’s Performance, Jordan Design, All
In Stitches and Total Vending. “After 10 years of racing, I am excited about moving into
the top local level, the Late Model Stock series, especially knowing Eagle
92.9, THAT’S RACING and The Horry Independent will be providing weekly
coverage and exposure for my team. I
am proud that Jordan’s Performance, Jordan Design, All In Stitches and Total
Vending, who have sponsored me in the past years continue to support my
efforts.” Jordan said. “I have a
great pit crew. We have a lot to
learn as a team, but I am confident the seasoned veterans will take notice on
short order!” |
